Train rides are available most Sundays (approximately 11.30 to 16.30) and usually Wednesday afternoons (approximately 13:00 – 16:00) between April and August – weather permitting.
Our station is located to the south East of Haigh Hall in the woodland off the main driveway in the parkland. Look for the sign posts in the parkland for directions to the ‘Model Railway’. The track is approx 1/3 mile long and mounted above ground level, journey time is approx 3-4 minutes. Parents are expected to travel with smaller children.
Most trains are model steam locomotives, but battery powered electric locomotives are sometimes available to pull the passenger carriages.
Most engines have been originally built and are maintained by society members.
Whilst there is no fixed charge for rides, donations are gladly accepted and go towards the upkeep of the track and annual running costs.
